Project Details
The project brief is to help Neighbourhood Networks (NN) enhance and develop provision by exploring how an advisory group can act to engage and give feedback on the needs of a diverse community. From the beginning of our research process, I understood that our partners aim to help the community network members achieve their outcomes and become independent by inviting members involved in the Neighbourhood Networks Advisory Group (NNAG) to get feedback and enhance organisational strategy. However, after analysing the members' experience journey, I found out that they could be focusing on enhancing the multiple pathways and involvement in the feedback system of NN to achieve their aim of members achieving outcomes and becoming independent.
About our Creative Partner
Neighbourhood Networks (NN) is a charity based in Scotland that focuses on using the peer support model to support vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health issues, and autism to become fully involved in their community and have a safe, active, healthy life.
Things I Did
I was in a team of five, which I focused on:
Design Research
Co-Creation Workshop Design
Service Design
Toolkit Design
Challenges
Because the participants had varying levels of disabilities, the workshop needed to be easy to understand while also creating space for everyone to express their thoughts.
Some confident speakers tended to dominate the discussion, so it was important to ensure that quieter participants and those less confident also had their perspectives heard.
Tools and Approaches
Planet-Centric Design
Co-design
Stakeholder and Ecosystem Mapping
Achetype
Service Blueprint
Prototyping
To support participation, I used easy steps, visual tools and simple English to make the workshop content more accessible.
Recognition
Class Tutors' Choice to GSA School of Innovation and Technology Summer Show
Design output shared with the Neiboughood Networks for further development
The Neiboughood Networks staff and members appreciated the work and considered further development on our rollout plan
